Building the Future of Hydrological Research Together
Torill Engen Skaugen
Chair of the Board, Nordic Association for Hydrology (NHF)

The Nordic Association for Hydrology (NHF) is responsible for the scientific journal, Hydrology Research (HR). The Editor of Hydrology Research, Björn Klöve, and I, recently visited IWA Publishing who are the responsible publisher of our journal at their offices in the interesting part of London, Canary Wharf.
We met with the Managing Director Arash Hejazi and Publisher Hebba Beech. We also got to meet all the talented staff at IWA. Björn is located in Finland, and I myself live in Norway. It was good to have the opportunity to meet in person and get to know each other.
The meeting was very fruitful and provided an excellent opportunity for constructive dialogue.
During our discussions, we agreed to collaborate on the further development of the journal. In particular, we explored ways to strengthen its quality, relevance, and impact within the hydrological research community. We also identified a shared interest in supporting early-career researchers, especially by developing initiatives to help them improve their skills in writing scientific papers.
Our journal is now available from Elsevier, due to good collaboration between IWA publishing and Elsevier. We are positive about the collaboration, and keen to learn more about how the collaboration will benefit our journal.
We are very pleased with the strong and steady flow of article submissions to the journal. At the same time, we look forward to receiving even more contributions from hydrologists around the world. Overall, the visit was highly productive and laid a strong foundation for future cooperation.
Thank you for having us, IWA publishing. We are looking forward to the good collaboration in the future!

A fruitful meeting in London: the NHF Chair and the Editor of Hydrology Research met with representatives from IWA Publishing to discuss the future development of the journal and opportunities for collaboration.
