Nordic and Baltic hydrologists met in Riga, Latvia

The latest Nordic Hydrology Conference was held in Riga, Latvia on August 2010 in a most warm and sunny weather. The main theme of the conference, FROM RESEARCH TO WATER MANAGEMENT, is very up-to-date even today when the implementation of EU's sater framework directive has started with surveys on the status of the water resources The conference gathered over 120 experts of hydrology to present and discuss their challenges, findings, and solutions in a fruitful way. Over 100 of the presentations are collected in the conference proceedings and a part will also be published in the Journal of Hydrology Research. Traditionally, NHF General Assembly was held during the conference. In addition to the regular issues, the meeting discussed the changes of the statutes, and approved the suggestion prepared by the Board. The changes will be adopted after the second discussion and approval in the next General Assembly in 2012. Learn more in the documents of the General Assembly. |
